Human Papillomavirus : DNA Detection / Genotyping through PCR

HPV is a DNA virus that replicates in the nucleus of squamous epithelial cells and induces hyper proliferative lesions.

It is one of the most common sexually transmitted diseases. Genital HPV genotypes are classified into High risk (HR-HPV, also known as oncogenic HPV) and Low risk groups.

There are more than 100 HPV subtypes, of which 13 subtypes are regarded as HR HPV, that can cause cancers of epithelial mucosal surfaces.

***“Sampurna” offers this test on Real Time PCR which help to detect 14 HPV High/intermediate - risk types (16,18,31,33,35,39,45,51,52,56,58,59,66,68) and HPV 16 and 18 Genotyping.*

TEST SIGNIFICANCE :**

  1. Cervical cancer is the fourth-most frequent malignancy among women Worldwide.

  2. Persistent HPV infection may result in progression to cervical cancer. Studies show that HPV tests are more effective at discovering high-grade dysplasia (abnormal cells that are likely to turn into cancer).

  3. The International Agency for Research on Cancer confirmed HPV 16 as the most common type, followed by HPV 18, together accounting for 70% of the HPVs identified invasive cervical cancer(ICC) specimens.

  4. Cervical cancer can be cured if diagnosed at an early stage and treated promptly

**Test Cost : 2300/-

Specimen : Collect the Cervical cell Nsample using a designed brush(LBC).
TAT : Same day Report**
